Well we made it home yesterday. Pooped but glad to be home! We had to get up at 3 am to make it to the airport to make our flight. We were delayed in Houston leaving for Little Rock. We were on a plane full of babies!!! It was cute for about 5 minutes after we arrived on the tarmack for the 1 hour delay to leave Houston!!! Then the babies started crying, one after the other! Oh what a noise!! I felt for the mother's...there wasn't much they could do to comfort their babies. About 30 minutes outside of Little Rock the last baby fell asleep. Ah peice and quiet....not quite...the landing gear going down woke one with a start and she started crying....well you know what happens next, they all woke up crying! I asked the steward how many babies there were and he said, "8"! On a plane that holds 50......I
The Fallen Firefighter Memorial service was beautiful! The weather was perfect for it. The IAFF did a wonderful job of co-ordinating this event, though they have for 20 years. I heard that it just gets better every year. I wasn't able to take alot of pictures during the ceremony, but I took a few. It just didn't seem appropriate. I am trying to see if I can get some pictures from the IAFF as they had several photographers out there. Linda, the union president's wife, and I held up pretty well. I was so proud that we have such a bond with our union that we were able to stand up for Captain Bevans as his family. We made many friends while there.
I read and posted a little bit last night but fell asleep at the monitor, I was soooo tired!!! Otherwise, I would have posted last night. Tomorrow I will try to get some pictures up.
