Our son Dylan's cemetary plot has been vandalized. We went to the cemetary the other day to found our bunnies around the stone to be smashed and the stone to be moved. The stone thankfully did not break though. I contacted the people of the cemetary to let them know and it make matters worse they were rude to me. Its been a stressful week. Hope this week goes better.

Should you contact the police?

Oh, Chrissy, I'm so sorry to hear this. In our rural area things like this happen all the time in the older cemeteries on the back roads that are no longer used, but rarely in the ones with recent burials. Sandy

Oh honey you would think the people of the cemetary would know how important it would be to you and show a little more care.
I think the police should be notified of the vandalism. Too bad they can't do something about rude people too.
Hugs, Lynne

I'm sorry your baby's special place has been damaged like this. :*( It's just not right.
It reminds me a bit of the time I was attending my own baby's funeral (the hospital has a program for miscarried babies who are buried in a mass grave)--they have a real funeral, singers, flowers, preacher, the whole nine yards. I remember how weird it felt to be there in the first place, mourning with so many other parents, when I looked over to some of the graves to the side of where we were standing...it was obvious that parents and loved ones had spent a lot of time planting memorial roses, or plants, making little enclosed plots with paving stones, etc. and nearly all of the current ones had little toy cars, beanie babies, McDonald's toys lined up in front of and around them...I remember in my grief being so touched to look over and see a little girl, not much more than a year old, who had toddled over to one of the graves, sat down on top of the marker, and commenced to play with one of the beanie baby toys there quietly. Seemed to imply that life goes on after death, and that was a little comfort to me.
I hope y'all find out who desecrated Dylan's grave, and they have to make restitution. Shame on them. :*(

Big Hugs Chrissy! Shame on the vandals and I hope the police is called and they find them. Even more shame on the cemetary people who should uderstand people and grief better. I think they should be required to take some sensitivity training! (Or get their derrieres kicked whatever works better)!

I'm so sorry about Dylan's gravesite. When they mow they are not careful, just in the mood to get it done and move on.
Rudeness isn't tolerated. However a nice police report might reinforce your beliefs that vandalization is not tolerated.
Hugs, Kate

{{{{{HUGS}}}} Chrissy I'm so sorry that Dylan's plot was vandalized. I agree with the others, you should contact the police. I think I would also contact the owners of the cemetery to tell them about how terribly you were treated by their employees. There is no need for them to be rude.

Chrissy I am so sorry to hear that some low life thought they needed to destroy something so holy. What a shame. And shame on the cemetary administration for being so rude. Hugs to you.

Oh Chrissy, I'm so sorry someone did that. How terrible! I don't understand how people can be so mean and cruel. And shame on the cemetary admin for being rude to you like that! I do hope you reported it, and went to the cemetary workers' supervisors.
