OT: Frustration

Hi.

Larry and I spent 6 hours shredding our addresses off catalogues and junk mail and unwanted items and our ears are ringing. then brought up four huge garbage bags filled with shredded paper.

I pulled out the junk mail that refused to open and individually shred out of frustration and printed out large lables that say "RETURN TO SENDER, NOT WANTED." and then walked them to the mail box. Let them deal with it.

I also listed us on this website because some of the junk mail clearly has our address as *** ****** street, no junk mail please, *******, ny

***** which has me upset. Here is the most used website for mailing lists and I found the removal section:

thought I'd share.

Oh Kate! For the past several months we have been receiving a playgirl subscription in our mailbox its someone's name no clue who and our address. We kept marking it return to sender and putting it make in the mailbox next month same thing we called playgirl to tell them hey we didn't pay for this subscription nor do we want it and they gave us a hard time and after several calls it finally stopped. I was about ready to Google the person and tell them to come pick up their magaizne and get this straighten out we don't want that.

I don't think you can return bulk mail. They probably just throw it away. The direct mail link that you used should work, but it will probably take a couple of months since bulk mailers work way in advance. My hubby does direct mail marketing for non profits and he says it takes awhile to get your name off their lists.

I bought my parents a subscription to Time through one of those school fund raisers. They were suppose to send a gift card with the first issue but either it got lost in the mail or they didn't send it. My father called and said he never ordered it and to not send him a bill. I didn't realize it what happened until my mother asked me to drop off an envelope at the post office with the magazine in it. My Dad was sending them back every week.......

I hate junk mail. Thanks for giving the link to us. When I get credit card and insurance offers, I tear up the info and things they sent me and then put it back into their return envelop and send it back to them. lol. I don't know if it does any good but it sure does make me feel better knowing they have to pay that postage for nothing.

that's what I used to do until we set up a postoffice at the daycare. Now I give the junk mail to the children and when they are done playing with it it goes through the shredder for my daughters critters. Sandy
