OT: Got Boxes?

Nope, it was a two part "murphy's law" and the apartment is no longer ours.

Larry never told me, because "I was going to take care of it," that back in 2002 the IRS had put a lien on his stocks. For obvious reasons he never took care of it. So when he went to sell his stocks he went "oops."

The other part is Uncle Ralph "misunderstood' which apartment we wanted so he put an offer on an apartment WE HAD NEVER SEEN. so we killed that offer. granted in pictures the place looked great but the board want 20% down which we don't have.

I went to bed at 9:00 p.m. without saying goodnight to Larry because I was so frustrated. I'm done. I've been busting my tooshie to save $12500 dollars and no matter what I do it isn't enough. Larry wants to go apartment shopping this weekend, I quit. I am going to spend my sunday scrapping and card making and doing laundry. He wants to go to open houses there is the door and his metrocard for the buses.

I'm at work so crying isn't an option.

------------------------------ Go apartment shopping. Find something with a month to month lease while you continue to save and iron all the wrinkles out. You will surely feel better if you get out of that basement and you and Larry are out on your own. Living with family members is always extremely stressful as is trying to buy a home, you really need to reduce your stress level or it may affect your marriage.

Yes, it might be possible to get a rental with an option to own that is easier to afford! Will be praying for a miracle for you. So sorry to see that the rug keeps getting pulled out from under you. :*(

Oh Kate I wish house buying were easier. I had a rough time buying my first house too and 99% of what went wrong had nothing to with me either. Just hang in there it's rough sometimes, but totally worth it.

Oh Kate, I am so sorry! {{{BIG BIG HUGS}}} Keep your chin up and I am sure something will come along.

You poor dear! It does seem like it is a never ending hurdle to get to where you want and need to go. But everyone is right. Buying a house is not an easy thing. But hang in there and continue to go to sites like realtor.com and keep looking. The perfect combination is out there somewhere just waiting for you! I just know it is,

Oh Kate what a roller coaster ride you have been on. I think a day of scrapping and card making is just what you need. Don't give up on the house though. I'm sure the perfect home is out there waiting for you.

Oh Kate I'm so sorry to hear all of this!!! If this is your first home, is there a program there for first time home buyers? We just bought our first home and we went through a program that helped heaps!!

HI Tabby

There are programs out there but we don't qualify because we make too much money. We had attended Home Ownership Classes when I was out of work and we were perfect for the programs but we wouldn't buy a house on one salary.

I'm not thinking about it. I'm just updating my myspace page and scrapping.
