Uncle Sam's Kisses

Hi all,

Is anyone familiar with a recipe for Uncle Sam's Kisses? All I know is that it's not a family recipe, there's only one reference to it via Google, and my mom doesn't even remember what was in it.

TIA,

Could it be a recipe from the WWII era? You might look at some cookbooks from that era or search for retro cookbook sites.

Sometimes baked goods are made with cereal, such as bran muffins, oatmeal cookies, etc. There is a brand of cereal called Uncle Sam, made by US Mills (

). Any chance Uncle Sam'sKisses were made using that cereal? If so, perhaps their customer relationsdepartment could help - may have even been a recipe on their packaging fromyears ago.

Hi all,

Thanks for all the replies and ideas. So far, I've made a note to contact U.S. Mills about the chance they might have a clue as to what "Uncle Sam's Kisses" are. I've also emailed the Internet reference. We'll see what pops up.

Peggy, that's the thing, I don't know. My guess is it is a cookie. However, the one reference I spotted on the Internet made it sound like a candy.
