Message is no longer available on the server ????????

Nov 01, 2006 16 Replies

Hi all,

All the messages dated 1 November are no longer on the server according to my computer.

Is anyone else experiencing this.

Yes - I got the same messages but not on ALL messages.

Hi Cheryl,

It also happened on the genealogy groups as well - there must be something wrong with the "gateway" between the newsgroups and the mailing lists. Do you have the web address for the archives of this group please?

No - sorry

I never used them. Have you tried Google?

Worst case - If you can wait an hour or two "the other side" (as in of the globe - USA) will be back online and they can tell you.

If I find it in the meantime I will post here.

Thanks Cheryl,

As I have to work tomorrow, I had better go to bed - I need all the energy I can get. I am an apprentice senior and my brain cells are a little rusty having not worked for a few months.

Thanks once again,

Hi Cheryl, I haven't gone to bed yet - found some more family history and thought I would copy and paste to look at tomorrow night.

If you were going to email me don't forget to take the figure 1 from the email address.

Am really going to bed now. lets hope all is fixed tomorrow.

I use

easy and clear to use, and useful for when you can remember there was a post a few months/years ago.

Ahhh. An "Apprentice Senior!" I knew there was someplace I needed to be! I haven't gotten there yet, but know that it's out there sometime. And, um, just what age-group does it apply to? I'm 58. I don't consider that Full-Fledged Senior, do you?

LOL

René

I had a terrible problem earlier in the week. Cox people told me I needed to "blah, blah ... dump all the headers... blahblah... just like emptying the cache. blah... re-join the newsgroups."

I must have done something right. My messages all came back. :-)

Cindy

Hi René,

No, you are not a senior yet - you have to be 60 - then you become an apprentice senior until you are 80, then you just might be considered to be elderly. Anyway, that's my story and I am not going to argue with myself.

Stay young, Regards, Di

Hi Mary,

It is possible, but not all messages were deleted - very strange.

It might have been that the 'lots of lovely, wet, cold rain' that we have had give it a fright. We haven't had rain for so long, my dog doesn't know what it is when it falls on him.

Sadly, it hasn't broken the drought.

Regards,

Hey - don't knock getting old. It beats the h#** out of the only available alternative! rofl

I am thoroughly enjoying myself - I get discounts in places I never thought would - I just flash my Senior's card and hey presto, a discount.
