OT: GREAT NEWS!!!!!

I got school PAID for!!! Plus my books, and my camera!!! I applied to BVR (bureau of vocational rehabilitation) because of my cancer.. and they are PAYING my tuition till the end!!! YAHOOOOOOO!!!! They might be able to pay for my computer too but not sure, but I can take out student loans for that.. I'm just amazed.. it was so simple.. a few papers, a few meetings.. and voila.. its paid. I'm stunned. I'm so blessed.. we have been having a hard time making the payments and we can relax a bit now! *aaaahhhh......* thats better!

Had to share!

That is SO wonderful! I've heard there is money out there to pay for school. People just need to look for it and jump through the hoops. I'm so glad you found something for yourself.

Congratulations! I hope you do well in school. I just wish everyone who really wanted an education could afford it somehow. There are so many different programs out there to help people if they could only find them. Sandy

Well two semesters ago I made deans list, last semester I missed it by .1 of a GPA (yeah, kicking myself!) but they don't consider my 3.6 honors... only 3.7 and higher.. so I'm still pleased... :D

I'll post what i'm doing there too when I get a chance... they might pay for my stuff, but i wish they'd pay for more time! If it hadn't been for a classmate going through BVR, I'd never known... since I'm not physically able to do what I did before as a living (drive truck) and I have a TON of documentation, and I'm physically able to do what I want to go to school for, I qualify. People don't realize driving truck requires unloading too and I just can't do that.. its one thing to move studio lights around, another to unload a truck.. LOL I have to interview a few active photographers (no problem there), and show need... (easy, they got a copy of my taxes)...

Wow, that's great! I've checked out the prices for higher education these days, & for the books. Yikes! They sure don't make it easy to afford, do they? So, congrats! Work hard & enjoy yourself. Sounds like you're doing both already.

Well unfortunately I had to pick one of the most expensive fields to get into when it comes to expenses... my school is about 30k for two years not counting the supplies, necessary equipment and books... heck thats another 30k easily... and that was the part I was having a hard time with.. I owe 14k now, and will take out a few more loans even when they are paying so I can get a little ahead with equipment that I need but they won't cover. As a photographer, most places expect you to come fully geared, and thats not cheap... I got a good start though!!! :D
