i just watched Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and there was a family on there who just recently lost the father/ husband. anyway, they made a stone bench with an engraved saying on it. this was a saying that Matt said up to the end of his life. he was diagnosed with cancer and 4 months later he passed away. here is the quote.

I cried throughout the show. If I remember correctly, dad was healthy when they applied to be on the show, was he not? But he was diagnosed soon after and died within four months, just 5 weeks before they rebuilt his home for his family.
It's a great saying. I liked it.
It is one of my favorite shows to watch every week, I cry during each one, mostly at the end. Guess it reminds me of me, the giving aspect and seeing the recipients real appreciation!!
That was a good one and one to remember.

No, when they applied, remember, he was in the hospital bed. They had pictures of when he was healthy and used those plus his sick photos and him in the hospital bed. They ended the application shoot with him in the hospital bed and the frame being fuzzied out saying just 4 months after shooting the application, he lost his battle with cancer.

Oh, I thought they filmed him in his hospital bed after Ty had called him to let him know they were getting a new house. Their application video was done on their front door step.
