OT: home (couple days!)

Boy what a trip is all that I can say!! The Good Lord sure does work in wonderful ways and the schedule this trip worked out so perfectly I could not have planned it better!!

Anyhow as ya'll know, I got to FINALLY meet Linda and her great dh and youngest ds. Then came the weather, OH MY!! All I can say if I had not gotten the opportunity to meet Linda, I probably would have been one of the many trucks and campers tat got laid over on the road as I only had a light load on. Heck it was scary enough already!!!

That is also not to mention that the NEW truck I had turned out to be a real pain. the computer did not work right and would not let the turbo run. The mountains in MD and PA were a real pain let me tell you!!

Anyhow after unloading and schedule got changed i Chicago, I left early and was supposed to go to louisville. Well lo and behold Shannon then was enroute. Lucky I decided to call her early enough (should have the night before!) as she did not check her email so did not know I was in the area. She had the kids and they really no worse than Jacqui's ::))!

She told me the youngest was real shy but I think she was pulling my leg!! I asked her if they wanted to get in the truck and that was all it took. i had another instant friend!! The looks on their faces was one not to forget!! But due to time and them needing get home for bed and her dh calling starving to death, we had to leave. As i left there I got called and told to forget Loiusville as the rest of the stuff will go and so the case of light bulbs were not important - grr!!

So that brings me to Wednesday. i started for Pa nd kept hearing about snow and ice. well guess what I found there besides hills that the truck did not want to go up - ugh!!

So I got to DC ok, had only to unload a few things so headed out of town in rush traffic. I just wanted to get home as the truck was a real pain. I stopped in my usual place, Cumberland, MD and called Teresa. She was so excited and I had been as her dh to wanted to meet each other. I think we yakked for 3 or 4 hours till midnight. i was so tired.

i also have a nephew there and he came and woke me up at 7. We had breakfast and then I shopped at TSC. OOPs another store I love!!

I left there and as i got to louisville area, well was surprised to not catch Sabrina at home to even talk to. it was raining and rush hour anyway so I just crawled on and thought I will just call and see if Sandy was busy. Been wanting to meet her dh, but did not know he had another and spell.

anyhow she was tickled to see me and i really did feel bad for staying so long as she starts at o-dark-thirty and it was midnight for us.

Then came Friday morning there at the truckstop near her house. I got suddenly BANGEd and shook awake at 5:00 when a trash truck hit my trailer. i could not believe it. Put this humongous scrape, scratch dent down about 20 feet of it. Plus put or took a chunk out of drivers fender. I thought oh brother that is all I need.

So after that rude awakening and all the ensuing police report and bull, I crawled my way on home. In Missouri in one of there great construction zones, another truck got me with a BIG rock in the middle of my side windshield. that one realy made the boss mad as we have to pay for glass damage and he even acted as if it was my fault or I could avaoid it. GRR!!

So after gtting back late Friday night, fighting all the wind andrain and gremlins I was mre thna worn out to say the least.

Worked most of yesterday emptying ut, cleaning up and turning in th etruck and coming home to a nap and pain pill.

today I spent 10 hours otsie cleaning up my yard, mowing, weedng, etc as the rest of the month I will be gone come Wednesday.

So there was that one of my more memorable trips in a nutshell and i amsorry thatit is long!!

So till my next adventure ----

Wow, after all that I'm sure glad you made it home safely, Dave!

And you have my sympathies about DC area traffic, especially at rush hour. I grew up there & worked in & around DC for awhile. Traffic there is as bad as traffic in SoCal.

Wow! I thought your trip sounded bad enought when you meet up with me telling me about the storms after meeting with Linda. Sounds like it just got worse from there. I can't believe your truck got hit. Was that a new trailer too or just the semi? I'm glad you made it home safe. Hopefully you won't have any more bad experiences like that ever.

It was so nice to finally meet you. Enjoy your few days off.

What a way to wake up! Sorry about your bad luck in Indiana, but I was glad to be able to see you again. I was only dragging a little the next day. DH said I should have work him up, but he looked so bad when he got home from work I figured he needed all the rest he could get. He just hasn't snapped back from this bout of the pancreatitis like he has in the past. I trimmed down some of the photos on that green reunion page and added an extra black mat. Mostly to the b&w photos. It looks much better - thanks for the suggestion. Sandy
