Hurricane Ivan Slideshow (this will be on MSN for 30 days)

The destruction you see is from Cape San Blas by Mexico Beach, FL which is about 45 miles east of Panama City (first two pictures) all the way to Gulf Shores, Alabama...

As a crow flies, that's about 210 +/- miles. Truly amazing as to what damage this Hurricane caused

When you see these slides, you really start to understand what they mean by beach erosion. They were saying that Daytona lost 4 ft of beach before Jeanne came through and it was hard to understand what that meant.

Thanks for sharing.

The family that lives in Milton said the same thing, it looked like a war zone when they got home. They stayed here nearly a week. They were so lucky, the roof only lost a few shingles down to the roof decking, and they lost 3 trees, 1 in back 2 in front. The 2 in front fell in front of and behind the vehicle they had to leave, no damage though.

My cousin lives in Pensacola, works in Pensacola. I spoke with her last night and she said that it takes her 2 hours to get to work and 2 to get home as most of the small bridges are out.

I'll continue to pray for all the hurricane family's in FL and other states that have had to endure the effects of all the hurricanes.

Yes I agree M-C. I don't know what the beach looked like before, but it's pretty scary how close it is to the buildings now. I thought some of the pictures looked like a giant threw down some popsicle sticks. My kids have been building things with them and that's exactly how my table looks. A building sticking out of a big pile of popsicle sticks.

Those pictures really broke my heart. I knew there was damage, but I just didn't know to what extend it was. I was thinking a chain saw and push broom was going to be needed to clean up. I just had no idea the destruction that was happening. Thank you for sending the link and opening my eyes. My prayers and help will continue for all involved in the hurricanes.
