OT: I'll be hit and miss for a while

Thought I would let you know I may not be on for a few days. I just got back from admitting DH to the hospital. His pancreatitis has flared up again, and this time we were not able to get a handle on it with gateraide and jello because this time the pain got to him first. He'd been fighting it off for a week, but the pain settled in his back. He held off too long and I have been after him to go to the doctor. He's been working, coming home and going straight to bed. Today he came in at noon and went straight upstairs. I couldn't go up and check on him because of the kiddos at the daycare, but yelled up a few times to make sure he was okay. He finally came down at 2 and said I could do whatever I wanted with him. I called the doctor and my sister and and had him there by 3 - my sister watched the daycare. Dr sent him to the hospital - they are concerned because on top of everything else his blood pressure is pretty high. When I left him he was so groggy because of the pain meds I don't think he even knew. Good thing both older DD's live within 20 mins of the hospital. Last year when this happened for the first time he was in and out of the hospital for 5 weeks and on a TPN bag. Cross your fingers for me this will be a light and quick one. Sandy

Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers. This trip to the hospital was a short one. three days on IV's and a pain pump and he came home last night. They are trying a medication used by CF patients to help his pancreas. He's had 4 bouts since the big one last year that resulted in 5 weeks of hospitals and surgeries. But this was the first one with extreme pain since then. It was quite a scare. Sandy

What is it with men and doctors?? Geesh! My Dad hates doctors and hates being in the hospital. We know he's sick when he asks Mom to make him a doctor's appointment! LOL
