Yarn... definitely ON topic! ;o)

I managed to get the one skein of variegated yarn (I mentioned in the newsgroup a few days ago) rolled into a complete ball. WOW, ever a LARGE ball. Funny too because the skein didn't really look like it would be that big rolled up. It took me quite a while to do it as I had to keep stopping to rest my fingers and wrists (and massage them) before I could continue. Then very late last night I got the second skein out that had been in the same package and started rolling it into a ball... the same way, stopping to rest in between. It is a really pretty variegated... wine color - very light pink (almost white) - dark purple - very light pink again - wine - very light pink again - etc, etc. Haven't decided what I want to make with it yet... I *may* decide to make a shawl or poncho, or even an afghan or something. I'll decide later when I'm actually ready to pick it up and do something with it.

For now, I'll just tuck it away in a bag to wait for the cooler weather along with the rest of the yarnwork. ;o)

Hi Gemini,

Oh, that color variegated sounds very pretty. Maybe instead of one big ball you should have made two. I did that the last time I had to roll a skein of navy blue.

Hugs,

Hi Nora,

Actually I *did* make two / or will when I'm finished rolling the second skein up. Or wait a minute... did you mean two balls from *each* skein? LOL Sorry about that, I'm still a little out of it.

By the way, Matthew is away today/tonight at a wedding reception with his girlfriend... I drove him to her parent's place and as he was getting out I informed him that I was heading to the hospital. As I told the doctor today who asked me why I waited so long to come in... I have a sister (the oldest) who is very much a hypochondriac, and I am the complete opposite... I have to be in a lot of pain for a long time before I'll finally give in and go to a doctor (and have been told off about it a few times. LOL).

Anyway, Matthew was stunned as I hadn't mentioned the pain to him at bedtime (when I noticed it first) or the whole morning while I was waiting for him to get ready to go out. He called me about 5:30 and said "You were discharged at 4:30?" (obviously he called the hospital) Then he proceeded to ask how it went and what they had found. He wasn't too pleased that the doctors don't know what is causing this, and said they had better get on the ball and figure it out. ;o)
