OT: Ikea Unit built

Hi Marilyn,

I'm so jealous ;-). I love IKEA and could spend days in their. Unfortunately, when we moved from California to Idaho, IKEA didn't come with us. I'm hoping to take a trip to Seattle in June and I can get my shopping trip in. You'll be so happy with your new organizational system!

Awesome! Looks like great and sturdy storage. I like that the shelves = are nice and thick!

Though I would let you know that the Ikea Expedit unit is built and in = place now. DH is having a few days holidays so I took the = opportunity...LOL I have loaded it up but it will need some fixing and = reshuffling before I am satisfied. I am really pleased at the amount of = stash it is going to hold and this was the smaller of the two units. I = have taken a couple of pictures empty and filled so you can all = see...they are in my craft room album on Webshots if you want a look.

Wow it does hold a lot. It looks really nice too!

A friend of mine bought the white one in December and I haven't been over to see it yet. I think it would do well in my craft room as well. I just bought a big comfy chair this week. Slowly, but surely I'm furnishing it.

Cleo, I sent a link through to the actual unit. It is called Expedit and = mine's is the smaller of the two options, because the craft room is a = loft conversion and it has a coomb {?sp} ceiling. I had the height but = not the width to fit the larger on in.

LOL....detective Cleo is on the case....yes that is it :o) I sent = through the link to it for Deb but it was the UK Ikea. Cool you found = the US link....I guess there may be an Ikea raid on the cards....LOL

I love Ikea! The unit looks great, Marilyn, AND it looks like you've done a great job organizing into it! It looks so neat and tidy! :)

I love IKEA. We have one on Long island (the thing that looks likes a fish attached to NY state) in Hicksville.

when my husband and I got married we took our wedding money and furnished three 1/2 rooms with fantastic furniture when we lived in an apartment.

We have that bookcase (now in storage) but never thought about it as storage for my scrapping stuff.

Very nice shelving unit Marilyn. I like the cubes for paper storage. It looks like they will hold lots of paper.

Ikea is a great store. I bought a sideboard from there to put all my scrapping stuff in. It took my daughter and I a day and a half to put it together, but it holds lots of goodies!

Thanks.....I am sure you will have some equally terrific storage solutions. It is just nice to share with others and perhaps supply them with the ideal solution for their craft storage :o)

Thanks Trish :o) I am slowly looking through peeps albums as time allows. Still in my reorganizing phase and I need to find more "little bits" storage ideas, i.e. beads, brags, eyelets, etc....LOL

Well go get out Kate! What you thinking about girl...it is no good to you in storage...you need it FOR storage *read stash*....LOL Isn't it funny how you see things in an entirely different light once you become aware of the way someone else has used an item. I was just thinking that two of these in an L shape would create a great scrapping corner in a room. I know that most folks have dual use rooms but this would be great to have a designated area set up as it is more productive.
