Yesterday I hit the jackpot. I stopped at an estate sale on a whim and found a quilter's stash for sale, pennies on the dollar. The dear lady's tastes exactly match mine. Bundles of 10 FQs were selling for $2.50. Full yards and bigger pieces were s elling for .75 a yard or so. I loaded up. And left. And went back at noon when the plan was to drop everything to half price. I figured the fabric would be cleaned out. It wasn't. I loaded up again. Filled three plastic grocery bags with tightly rolled and ribboned pieces of fabric. I got more than a yard of the scrumption salmon colored paisley from April Cornell's Poetry collection for 80 cents. While most of the fabric was fat quarter size, and some was smaller (a stack of already cut 5" squares of yellow Fairy Frost), the stuff is all highest quality and gorgeous. I'm singing as I cut today.
