Made this today and it turned out really good. It was super easy to put together and I liked that it only took 5 hours to cook verse the usual 6-8 hours. You could be crafting while this is cooking!

Enjoy, Lynne

MMM that sounds good! I saved it and thanks for that! :-)

Five hours? Got anything that can be ready in 5 minutes?

Thank you I have saved this one. It is like one I do that is Tammy Wynette's Favorite Bus recipe. TFS Tammy

We're talking SLOooow Cooker here.... that's a whole nother category. I've been experimenting with getting a meal cooked without me having to stand over it for 2 hours. This one did take more time than others because of the mashed potatoes, but I delegated that chore.

YUMMM - sounds great, and relatively low fat! Thanks for sharing!

I thought you might like this since it came from the Cooking Light Slow Cooker Cookbook.

I was just kidding, I knew it was a slow cooker recipe. Still, to do that requires that I think about making dinner more than 15 - 30 minutes before we are ready to eat. We eat pancit alot here LOL.

I know what you mean about the preplanning. Many a day goes by that I didn't get the idea to start the crockpot soon enough in the day. Or Like today... slept too long and didn't get the ribs in the crockpot. I SO wanted to try them in the crockpot too. Now I'm walking back and forth from craft room to kitchen to get them cooked. Slow cooking sounds really easy if you wake up early enough to do it. I think when the kids are back in school it won't be so hard since I'll have to be up before 10am. I've been thinking that maybe even filling the crock the night before and just sticking it into the cooker part in the morning might work out better too. I'm in the experimental stage.

Have you ever tried one of the meal prep places like My Girlfriends Kitchen? I think we would be eating fast food and tv dinners all the time if it weren't for MGK because cooking isn't my favorite task but I'll do it as long as only makes a small mess.

I've made this about a year ago and lost the recipe. They are really yummy!
