OT: sewing project

I know this is off subject, but I had to share. My GD (age 7) called me last Sunday and asked me to make her a dress for a beauty pageant "Little Miss Fall Festival" she was going to be in. I said sure and they arrived that night with fabric and a pattern for a Japanese kimono. I figured I had a couple of weeks and would start this weekend. Then I get a call from DD on Wednesday evening asking when she can pick up the dress - she won't have time on Friday before the pageant. "THIS FRIDAY" I asked. She said "you have been working on it....right?" I of course said "yes" and rushed to the basement and started cutting........ Finished it yesterday afternoon except for the hem during naptime. It was worth it when GD came to try it on for the hem last night. She stood over me while I put the hem in, asking if I needed a drink, how the machine worked........ Here's a picture of the finished project:

Thanks everyone for your wonderful comments. Thought you would like to know my granddaughter was 1st runner-up in the pageant tonight. I was not able to be there, but DD called me as soon as the judges made their decisions. I asked about pictures and DD's camera battery died, but her friend took lots of pictures for her. Hope I get some to scrap.

Are you sure you did that in such a short time? I'm always impressed by your talent and all the wonderful things you can do! The kimono is just gorgeous, and GD looks very pretty in it. It's obvious she's very proud of the work her grandma did.
