Ok - so I just thought I'd share, since I thought this was really neat. I was looking at the links Lynne had posted for samples using the Stamin Up Word Window punch, and one of them was this Blog:

On her blog are some VERY nice cards, I must say, but she also talked about cleaning and clutter, and starting by shining her sink, per the FLYlady....and I was intrigued. So - I followed her link to the Flylady site - and I think I will try FLYing....(FLY=Finally loving yourself). She has a whole system for helping you de-clutter your home in babysteps - the first step being shining your sink....so tonight I will shine my sink, and go from there!

For the last few years, I've been burried under my own clutter, and NEED To get back to the once neat and organized on-top-of-it person I once was...and every weekend I think I'll get it done and clean and organize, and never do....so - I figured, can't hurt to try the FLYlady's system....

Anyway - I thought I'd share the link, in case anyone would like to try "FLYIng" with me!

Let me know if you're gonna try it too - we can encourage eachother!!! And thanks to Lynne, for inderectly directing me to this site! :)

Just don't sign up for the emails, after a couple of days it becomes downright annoying. I follow the program but I don't get dressed up to clean and I don't wear shoes in the house.

Jessica....like Cathy says the Flylady emails and stuff can drive you nuts. I joined their list at one point and since it seems to be based around US timezones I woke to dozens of tasks to do LOL....Felt like I was playing catch up all day after that! I tried joining the UK regional groups and they just didn't work either...so I go to the site from time to time and follow the rules when I feel the need.

The other site that is based on similar principals is a yahoo group called ScrappersChallenge

It is scrapbook focussed and I find it useful to help make my scraproom & supplies easier to use. It works in conjunction with this site

which I have sent through to RCS before. There is also links at the bottom of the home page to organised homes, organised christmas and sew organised. You might find these help you achieve your goals....good luck with getting organised :o)

Well, not sure I'm glad you found the flylady through me. After a month of "flylady" emails you may be cursing me. hahaha

I love to look at the site, and the idea to have a clean sink to start the day off with is truly wonderful. But I just can't do as much cleaning as they want me too.

I've been a flybaby for years... actually I got it all down pat and switched off the emails and figured I could do it all by myself without her prodding me, and I did okay for awhile, but then I fell off the bandwagon again. I just resubscribed to her list last month and I'm trying to keep my kitchen CLEAN at least, even if I'm not doing everything... it really does give you a boost to get up in the morning and to walk out to the livingroom and see a tidy livingroom, a clean clear dining table, and a shiny clean kitchen with no dirty dishes lying around!

I've been following her system for a few years now. I don't always wear shoes though. The one thing I have found to be most important is Don't be afraid to delete the emails, even if you haven't done them all. The reminders will come around again. My house is still far from perfect but it has relieved alot of stress and fights between me and DH and the kids. I also enjoy my hobbies more now because I don't feel guilty that I should be doing something else.

Jessica ;) and all...

FlyLady ROCKS! I discovered flylady through a Mary Kay director with ADD it changed her life and it's changing mine. Funny thing was that about 6 months later I was at a routine medical examination and my physician wrote me a prescription to join Flylady.net, read the books, etc. It really does work amazingly well for those of us who need a life coach. Jessica, I wish I'd mentioned it to you... never thought about it but oh so glad you've discovered a wonderful resource to make life easier. We all need and deserve that in our lives ;)

I visited the Fly Lady site, and wow it was really interesting and motivating reading! I sometimes feel overwhelmed with all the housecleaning I need to keep up on, AND work a full time job, be a mother, be a wife, etc., etc... I might check this out more...I shined my sink today! :-) Linda

I started Flylady years ago, but also had to drop out due to the immense amount of 'chatter' on the group--still, I got many good tips and created my own weekly CHAOS controlling chart that I still try to use to this day.

I used to scoff at the 'wear your shoes around the house' bit as well-- until I developed plantar fasciitis and bone spurs in both feet. :*( Fortunately $500 shoe inserts have greatly helped ease the terrible pain from walking barefoot. Wish I'd listened to Flylady way back!

I used that Flylady 15 minutes rule and totally cleaned and decluttered my entire house. It worked like a charm.
