Re: scrap stuff on QVC

Well I got all excited and surprised but I checked QVC listings and it is Creating Keepsakes not Creative Memories that is on 7/26. That is not necessarily a bad thing and easy to mix the names up but for those of us CM people it would have been a shock! :)

I love to cross-stitch but it has definitely taken a backseat now that I am interested in scrapbooking! Shoot, I still have one that is unfinished - received it as a wedding gift (nearly 6 years ago!!)

I cross stitch.. I've also done plastic canvas... I have a cross stitch that I started 2 years ago for my MIL as a wedding gift and I ran out of fabric so I have started it over and have plenty of fabric now :) Then of course I got pregnant and couldn't finish it. She doesn't know that I'm making it for her. I do intend to finish it and give it to her. But since I started scrapbooking I put it aside. So I have 2 things now to finish for her that she doesn't know about :) But I really do enjoy cross stitching :)

I'm right with you Patty. Loved to cross stitch until I found scrapbooking. Love the instant gratification and count cross stitch just can't give that to you. I have a Christmas stocking that is now going on Christmas number 3 and still not even hardly started.

I'm really trying to work on it this year. My daughter is soon to be 6 and won't believe in Santa much longer. I really want it done for this year since I'm pretty sure it will be her last in actually believing.

For the first time, I watched QVC the other night, when they had the Creative Keepsakes. OMGoodness! I wanted everything. I was about to order

2 things, but they didn't change the shipping--you have to pay shipping on each item you buy. So, the miser that I am, I didn't buy anything. It's better that way, though, because I really wanted everything and I don't have that kind of budget! I wanted the kit (500+ items) and I wanted the charms. I loved the letters, too, but I'm too cheap to pay that much shipping!

Hi Trish,

Yes, I remember your posts here and there and why you left as well. Sometimes an online community just isn't worth it; it's supposed to be fun and a hobby is supposed to be relaxing.

I certainly am :-) BTW, are you a ham? My boyfriend's callsign is VE6BUD. He mostly chats on his truck radio as we can't put up a tower right now and I'm iffy about having a 15' antenna on top of the house (the chimney would need to be re-enforced). He's hoping to get out of work this long weekend to volunteer at a horse endurance race in the Rockies! I hope he can - we haven't gone on a vacation all summer, plus free meals are provided and we can go camping. I'll have plenty of time to stitch then too.

Best, Christine

Thanks Maureen.

Glad to see there are other stitchers here. I may try to incorporate x-stitch into my scrapbook, but it would have to be small little things, that's for sure :-) My needlework gallery can be seen here, for those interested:

I used to knit... I have three unfinished projects that cause guilt pangs whenever I see them in the basket. I get over it though when I start scrapbooking . ;-)
