Yesterday was craft day on the QVC UK shopping channel

On Saturday, QVC UK had a whole 24 hours of crafting. It was great!!! They should do it more often! And there was a lot of scrapbooking too, with most things selling out very, very fast and selling out completely by the end of the hour. I wanted to buy 30 rolls of Elements patterned ribbons, so I went to the hall to get my QVC details, and when I came back, not even a minute later, it was sold out! Is it like this on the US QVC too? They also had some guests demonstrating, including Nancy Hill from DCVW and, for the first time, Lisa Bearnson from Creating Keepsakes.

(I eventually ended up buying 3 Brilliance multi-colour ink pads with my husband's approval - because they were not too expensive.)

I love the kits from QVC! They have things I don't see in the scrapbooking stores. Yes, the US QVC scrapbooking shows have guests, too. Lisa Bearnson is on a lot, and they have other guests demonstrating, too. I remember Tina Lewis, but I don't know what company she represents. There's a woman from "Simple Scrapbooking" magazine who has been on. Usually Anna Griffin and Brenda Walton are on (I love thier deisgns!). Are the scrapbooking shows new or are they not on often? That could be why things sold out so quickly. Being on on a weekend, too, could have made a difference.

If memory serves me correctly, US QVC has whole days devoted to crafts three or four times a year, and they also have days where they have clusters of scrapbooking shows. National Scrapbooking Day is coming up in early May, so I expect to see a lot of scrapbooking shows. (I don't know who declared a National Scrapbooking Day, but it's a good excuse to buy more scrapbooking items...as if we need much of an excuse.)

Often times the shows are on when I'm at work, and I've rarely had a problem ordering what I want that evening. I do remember, though, I was on the waitlist for two or three items from their craft day last August. I forgot about being on the waitlist for one of the items, and a few months later, got a pleasant surprise in the mail!

If it sells out fast they usually get it back in. I am lucky to live not so far from the studio here in the US and I have gone to a few of the scrapbook shows. My sons and my cousin work for QVC so I get to chat with Lisa and see the layouts whenever I go.
