It is This time of year ,, my threads . wools need inspection ... but this time i had some interesting plans .i did a lot of mind seeking lately. My book writing needs to be first priority and my art plans next to it, thus some wools won`t be in use for a long time. A close friend has stopped spinning , but still likes working with the home spuns...thus the natural decosion is to give her al those home spun. Thus boxes and bags were pulled out and i made a pile of what will leave the house ,,,, This helped me to rearrange the wools in a better system , now i can see all in a jippy.... Rearranging all i changed to new bags , cleaned Dust that crepat between the various bags, and collected my Ropes , that were thrown in with the wools , into one box,,, and i also found some of my Rag thread balls, [= torn rags i prepare at times for weaving rag rugs]. I also found a long strip of Strong Yutah , i think it is used for upholstering or something , But i want it to preapre an art work [ and forgot where i put it] . Also cahnged all the nice good smelling soaps i keep with my wools ....The dry ones go into the drawer for immidaite use ,,, i pushed boxes , threw out oold bags , and 2 big Cardboard boxes...Not a very artistic day , but it gives a feeling of OK ... Ps the long strip will be used to embroider an elonagted `story` , for next year`s exhibition . My "Mapressions Loci" exhibition is invited to an other Museum , but they requested one new work Specially made for them ,,, i am `cooking` this one now ..... mirjam overworked as usual ...

was hat making day. We are putting on a skit for our birthday banquet (OES) celebrating the 60th anniversary of VE day. So I was asked to make/sew three of the soft hats from the RCAF. You know, the ones that fold flat? Well the only pattern I had was the hat they use for curling. But they are done, and I hope they will be ok. I take them to a meeting tonight to give to them, so we shall see. Today, I will spend some time working with ;my yarns. Might be only to straighten them up, but Hey!, at least I'm on topic! LOL

Norma ? i have no clue what you mean by that hat ??? can you describe it more ? is it like the paper hat we fold from a newspaper ??? mirjam

Good for you!. That sounds like one of those spring cleaning jobs we dread doing but makes us feel so good when it's done.

Mirjam, I found this site that shows a doll size model of the uniform with the hat I'm talking about. It's the first one shown. The hat folds side to side flat. The upright edges are firm and the top is soft and folds in half. I know that I found a picture of a man wearing one too, and I'll try to find it. It was a better picture.

Mirjam, I found another photo that is better. About half way down this page is a picture of 3 fellows and the hats that they have on are similar to the ones I made.

Thank you Jan , Last night went to a wedding, and met some Art friends , and i outlaid to one of them the `contours` of my idea, and it was good to speak about it, Sometimes an idea + writings alone isn`t clicking , until i tell it to somebody else ,,, As to Spring cleaning ,,,, I intend to go on with it , i use the time of physical work , to `chew` on my artistic ideas. mirjam
