Re: Venting - Lost Birthday photos

I think this is where a friend of mine's technique would come in handy. I believe if I don't have the photo it does go into the album or at least that's what I believed up until this summer. My friend recreates scenes and takes pictures so that everyone is included in a photo layout. Get all involved and take pictures of them. If it was a surprise maybe even have the birthday picture ham it up acting surprised. Then do a lot of journalling. Maybe talk about how the camera got stolen and the fun of recreating the scene ... etc.

I'm sorry this happened to you! I'd suggest going to NFL.com and priting off the logos for the two teams for starters. I'd also suggest journaling it all out, including the part about the stolen camera. You could check some of the sports websites (ESPN, etc.) to see if there are any clips from the game there as well. You could even go so far as to do a pp with one of the helmets (whichever is her favorite team!) and a photo of her... Just some ideas off the cuff... I'd make the journaling the main focus though...

We went to an NBA game once and the pictures were terrible. So I went to the NBA website and the team website and even fan websites adn downloaded photos (poster type photos) of some of the stars we saw. Then I took a decent picture of us outside the arena and just journaled about it using the downloaded photos. Everyone agreed it was one of my better layouts.

For this, you could even put a diecut of a camera with a diecut of a hand swiping it. The add a journaling block about how the camera was stolen with the film in it and you lost the only photos of the event.

hope that helps. I'll try to look up my LO from the game adn email it to you. Maybe it'll spark some ideas.

trying to post this again!

Im sorry to hear about the camera... but am loveing the idea of recreating the day... what a great time.. I mean.. the first day was a blast right? so the 2nd day will be too.. and then a write up on the events leading up to the recreation would be included.. which would make THAT birthday.. one NO ONE will ever forget...

Just wanted to say I'm sorry about the situation, but there are some great ideas here to make a page - good luck - I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Oh Susan! What a terrible thing to have happen! I know your DD feels just awful that it happened while she had ot. I would do the ticket stubs, the parking thing and maybe a picture of the team and then journal a whole page about the mishap. Does your homeowners policy cover something like that? Hugs,

Sabrina :-)

Susan, I can't think of any ideas, but I would wrap up the story w/ the stolen camera part. That would explain why no pics. Maybe you could do like a map or something of where the trip started, went and ended along w/ a narrative. Guess I did have an idea afterall. Good luck and sorry to hear about this unfortunate ending to an otherwise wonderful day.
