reading the newsgroup

Where was the site to download to be able to read the newsgroup without going through google? Verizon has officially dropped the newsgroup and I am at a loss.

Thanks so much Lynne and Marilyn. I finally have the newsgroup back and running on my computer - thank goodness. Google was driving me crazy, even though there has not been much activity lately for me to read. I find it so much easier to check the newsgroup when I check my e-mail. I am not really a facebook sort of person. I still find it hard to use and I am not a game player and do not participate in the surveys.

I'm so glad it worked for you. When my ISP quit carrying newsgroups I was very upset. I love my newsgroups.

Glad you sorted it all out Sandy :) It has been so quiet on the RCS newsgroup for awhile now and I am afraid I am another that dislikes Facebook. So after a short sojourn in that direction I just started to look for new forums to suit my online habits. There seems to be so much on FB relating to games, surveys & other (dare I say....) pointless applications and they are just not my thing either! I spent more time trying to find peeps posts it was frustrating.

I think that this groupd is being dropped from many of the newsservers now due to lack of activity. Although we have now found a solution that works for us...if we rest on our laurels we may lose that option also. I so hope that doesn't happen! If Google Groups was the only choice I would probably give up :(

Take care, Marilyn
