Ribbons and Trims used in Scrapbooking?

Hi group, I am new to the world of scrapbooking. I work at a company that manufactures ribbon and trim that has been used for apparal and crafts in the past but I am now looking into scrapbooking uses.

I am trying to put together a retail section of our website just for scrapbooking, but I had a few questions that I thought I'd pose to this group before I get started:

  1. What is the ideal length of ribbon you'd want to buy for scrapbooking purposes? We recently added some 10 yard spools to the site, but perhaps scrapbooking requires even less?

  1. What widths of ribbon would you be interested in? In the past the #9 a 1.5" ribbon was our most popular width, but perhaps a thinner

7/8" ribbon is more appropriate?

Thanks for your input!

1.When using ribbon, I would prefer to buy 1-3 yards at a time. More than that would probably be too much for me to use.

  1. 7/8" would definately be a better size for scrapbooking in my opinion...the 1.5" would work if you were using it as a base for the title or something, but for most things (like accenting photos) it would be too large.

That's just my >Hi group, I am new to the world of scrapbooking. I work at a company

I usually buy fibers and ribbon in 1 to 3 yard lengths. Most of the places I buy from either have them precut in 1 yard lengths or cut according to how many yards you want which I prefer over precut lengths.

Personally I like narrow ribbon but it depends on the layout.

What friends of mine do when we see ribbon we want and they sell it in the roll. Which is the small rolls 6 yds maybe. We each buy a different one and split it. Other then that I buy 1- 3 yds as well.

Thanks very much for your input! Selling 1 to 3 yards at a time is going to be a major shift from selling 100 yards spools 8) Maybe we'll try to put together a kit or a collection that has 1 - 3 yards of some of our most popular items.

Thanks again!
