Scrabble Board LO

I've posted here in the past off and on. Last year was a very busy and rough year for my family and I so I just lurked. The summer began with my husband having a kidney/pancrease transplant that lead to 3-4 months of complications in and out of the hospital. Then on October 26, 2004 we were blessed with our very first child (Dylan Daniel). He was born a very healthy baby boy (a premie by weight 4 pounds 14 ounces but thankfully all of his organs were fully developed so he did not have to stay past 4 days in the hospital since he was very healthy) then on December 6, 2004 our beloved Dylan became our angel, he passed away of SIDS. I found comfort in scrapbooking his pictures. The page that I recently finished I actually began to work on the night prior to his death. I bought scrabble board paper and scrabble board letters at Michaels. With the letters I spelt out his full name and then other words that we thouht of right away when we thought of Dylan (such as premie, blue eyes, baby, adorable etc. then I had a Dylan's hospital picture and picture of him and a snowman that was taken at Wal-mart 3 days prior to his passing that were the perfect size for the board. I am working on the 2nd part of the LO which is I want to take each of the words that are on the scrabble board and write a sentence or of more of way or what made us choose that word and just other memories that we have of Dylan. Wish I could share the actual layout with you.

Chrissy, I don't have the right words to bring you comfort, but I just would like to say that I am so sorry to hear about your loss and difficulties in the past year. I will be keeping you and your family in my prayers for a happy and prosperous 2005.

I did another page of Dylan to the paper was a light blue with yellow stars. I placed his hospital picture in the center and each corner I straced and cut out a star. On each start I wrote on star 1. A Star is born, star 2. Dylan's full name, star 3. birthday and time he was born and on the last star his weight and size. Around his picture I made a copy of his feet that they did in the hospital and I was lucky enough to have once traced his little hand on to paper. I put the feet and hands on the side of his picutre. I made 3 of these pages 1. for myself and husband one for my parents and one for my MIL. At first I wasn't sure I could scrap Dylan's pictures but my MIL asked that when I was ready to make her a page that she could frame. So when day I gave it a try and found it helped me and also talking about him helps. I'm very thankful that for the short period of a month that we had Dylan we have one completely filled (no more room for another picture) album of pictures. I just wish I could share my LO. We have a digital camera and were learning on how to work and were getting a new computer soon so hopefully in time I can share.

Chrissy, it's very easy to upload you LO's with a digital camera. You just have to use a USB cable, which probably came with the camera. Another option would be to have your photo shop load the pics onto CD and then you can upload it from there to a site like Webshots or Yahoo. :)))

Personally I scan my LO's, but I'm doing smallish ones at the moment. When I start doing bigger ones, I will also probably have to start using the digi-cam.

Looking forward to see your LO's! They sound great.

It is impossible to have the right words to express the depth of my sympathy for you and your family. You have been through so much and yet it is obvious that you have found the strength in yourself to find the positive in all of this. Your family and Dylan are in my prayers. I am sure that Dylan is now looking out for his Dad and his Mom. I hope that your DH is also doing OK through everything he has been through and that he stays healthy.

I do remember you from when you last posted and I do hope that you will find solace in spending some time again here with us all. I must say that you have a knack for describing your layouts, but all the same I hope that you will find a way to show them to us when you can. {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}.
