I love my table too! My table seats 10 with both large leaves in. As our extended family expanded, DH made me an extension, perfectly cut to fit the shape of the table, with it's own legs. I can snug it up to the table, bungee cord the legs to the table legs for stability, and seat 4 more people. That extends the table out into the living room, but there is no wall in between so it works. I have two tablecloths that fit the extended table perfectly. For more than 14 guests, I have two 60 inch "card table toppers" I put on card tables and set them up in the living room. They will each seat six. Everyone can see everyone else. I have never had to serve sit-down dinner to more than 26 people.
At one time we had grandparents, aunts and uncles, married kids, and grandchildren, all coming to Christmas Eve dinner here. That has dwindled some, but it's still a pretty large group.
