Dressing the Stars

No, it's not me who's dressing them; the Bath Fashion Museum has an exhibition of 'best-of' movie costumes. Read about it in the same Burda Style that gave me the idea for my Kimono project. Oh, how I wish I could go and see them, but with both my parents' indifferent state of health I think it won't be possible. Anyway, for those who live close by (wink-wink, nudge-nudge Kate!) it might be worth a trip:

Second Sigh... I would love to see those. Not to one-up you, but another collection is currently drawing attention over here:

I would bid on the Julie Andrews' "Sound of Music" dress and guitar, but my budget doesn't quite stretch that far. :-(

That IS one up, I'm afraid. I also found out, now that we're talking Marilyn, that the said museum had an exhibition of just her dresses, designed by Travilla. Now, if I had won the lottery big time, which would I bid for? I guess I like the C. Colbert Cleopatra dress and the red Monroe one from 'Gentlemen prefer Blondes' best. But I bet there are a lot more treasures not to be seen in the slideshow. A really, really BIG !

U.
