Ok, I've been reading about Featherweight machines and 301's, etc... I just bought an old singer machine at an estate sale and would like to figure out what model it is. How can I tell? TIA

Ok, I've been reading about Featherweight machines and 301's, etc... I just bought an old singer machine at an estate sale and would like to figure out what model it is. How can I tell? TIA
First is there a number on it. Most Singers are numbered. Does it have a flip up extension table. Featherweights and 301's have this feature. Also they are light weight. The FW is 11 pounds, the 301 is
16 and has a handle on top. You can go toSorry for all the typos in the last message, Arthur is acting up today and fingers are stiff and sore. Need to do some hand quilting to get them moving freely again. Maybe that baby quilt that is hanging around the living room.

Thanks for the information... I do not believe it is a featherweight because it is in a cabinet. I will have to check it out in the morning as it is in my shop.
Somewhere on the machine will be a serial number: send this to Singer (on their main web site there is a place to email them), and in a few days they will send you all the info they have on that machine.
