Ok,
I've been reading about Featherweight machines and 301's, etc...
I just bought an old singer machine at an estate sale and would like
to figure out what model it is. How can I tell?

First is there a number on it. Most Singers are numbered. Does it
have a flip up extension table. Featherweights and 301's have this
feature. Also they are light weight. The FW is 11 pounds, the 301 is
16 and has a handle on top. You can go to

Thanks for the information... I do not believe it is a featherweight
because it is in a cabinet. I will have to check it out in the
morning as it is in my shop.

Somewhere on the machine will be a serial number: send this to Singer
(on their main web site there is a place to email them), and in a few
days they will send you all the info they have on that machine.
