I am making leotards from KwikSew pattern 2177 for my DDs and want to make one of them sleeveless. I noticed on a RTW child's sleeveless leotard that the armhole seems to be finished with elastic. Is this the right way to finish a sleeveless leotard? The neck and leg openings (on views c and d) are both finished with elastic as well. The material is a two-way stretch lycra. Thanks! Julia

Yup - just elasticate it like the legs! :)
Thanks Kate! Julia
Sometimes you can get by with just turning it under if the fabric is highly resilient and elastic--- but not for the legs. But it is probably safer just to use some narrow elastic stitched directly to the opening and then turn it under.
I'm just curious -- is foldover elastic appropriate for this kind of application? Don't know if foldover has the necessary resilience for dance wear. But it could be an attractive finish.
