Happy Dance--tallit finished

Decided to add fringes in addition to the ritual fringes in the corner. My husband has long arms and the tallit, even though as long as usual, looked as if it needed a bit more length. The fringe is made up of lengths of perle cotton individually threaded and knotted (yes, I have a blister!).

Now, if only I hadn't made the companion tallit bag (same fabric as neckpiece) a little too snug...

Anyway, the tallit pictures are the last two pics in the Sewing Projects album.

Very smart! I like the fringe.

That is absolutely beautiful. You were right about adding the extra fringe, too. (put aloe on the blister) I do chuckle, though, seeing all the things you have made which are so lovely and rich with Judaica, and then the Santa's Workshop. Of course, I have a wreath on the door and a menorrah on the mantel......

Welllll... I was in a rush to name the thing, and, in truth, all but three are going to people who celebrate Christmas. But I don't think of wreaths (regarding your wreath and menorah) as religious anyway. Santa either, though the associations there are a little iffier. Think I'll work on another name.

Thank you for the compliments!

No, don't change a thing! I think it's wonderful! We can all celebrate the season, in whatever fashion. Toss in a Yule log and some mistletoe, something for Kwanzaa, and we should have it fairly well covered.

Heidi, that is really beautiful. Nice work. I'm sure your husband will love it every time he uses it. What a lovely gift.
