Help with Bernina 1090

Sep 14, 2008 2 Replies

I am looking at buying a used Bernina 1090. I have a small business and sew at least 2 hours each day with medium to heavy weight fabrics. Does anyone know if the 1090 Bernina is a good choice?

Thanks!

It looks like an updated version of my 1030, go for it. I love mine it's been serving me impeccably with all types of fabric and heavy usage, I sew for a living, for the last 22 years.

I have a 1090 I bought new in 1995. It is still my favorite machine to piece quilts and sew clothes with. I have been sewing a lot since then, and have been retired since 2005. Even though I have newer machines, including a Pfaff and a Janome, the 1090 is the ONLY one I would never think of trading in. It has a lot more needle punching power than the rather high-end Pfaff I got a few years later. So yes, I think it is a good choice.
