Hem Tape

Ok, so I did the no-sew, hem-tape thing to shorten some curtains yesterday and some of the hem-tape melted onto my iron! Does anyone know how to remove this from the iron ?!?

:It's seared onto the iron plate... it would seem to need some kind ofsolvent or abrasive to get it off? Not sure what would be safe to use, and notscratch the plate.

I reckon that if you run the iron firmly on some wet cotton it should come off. It's only glue :-)
