Hi everyone

Anyone have any comments on John Lewis sewing machines, been looking at the JL110 as a first machine for someone.

paper it looks good, but I've no experience of JL machines. Itseems it does everything but decorative stitches, and looks like thereare no feet available for it. How things change - my first was a black singer, and I was grateful for it.

Does the "someone" for whom this is intended have an opinion? If not, why not? Buying a sewing machine for someone else, without any input from that person is not generally a good idea. Several contributors here assembled a "What Sewing Machine Should I Buy" FAQ, you can find a copy here:

On a severely limited budget (the JL110 apparently lists for $160.00/£99) the consensus is: Buy a well maintained, older, ***used*** machine. One good source is your local sewing machine dealer. They usually service their trade-in machines and offer a limited warrantee.

Good luck

Thanks... only now been able to access the ng again. Its turns out its a rebadged Janome JR1012.
