You don't need to - they'll send you mails for ever now that you're on their list :-)

Now that's cynical and quite unfair. I've ordered two or three times from them and never yet had any spamming,

It's not cynical and not at all unfair, I was being helpful to the poster and never mentioned the word "spam". I receive at least monthly e-newsletters from Fred Aldous, about which I'm perfectly happy. They certainly stock some things which we've not found anywhere else.

I think that your post was unthinking and reflects more of your character than it does mine. You misinterpreted what I said.

Unsolicited emails are still spam, no matter how you try to dress it up.

That's why I suggested them.

That is your opinion. So be it. I will leave others to judge whether or not my earlier response to you warranted your aggressive attack on me.

Oh no I didn't. You'd like everyone else to think so, but the inference in your post was quite clear, that FA would send unsolicited emails because she was 'on their list'. That may not have been what you meant to say, but that was the import of your comment.

I haven't had any unsolicited emails from them, you have. You *are* quite obviously on their list, I am not. You have no knowledge whatsoever as to whether the OP is currently 'on their list'.

To paraphrase an old saying "Engage brain before touching keyboard".

Nobody solicited your mail :-)

That was your interpretation. It wasn't my intent. Nobody else has said anything, for or against.

?????? How does bookmarking a site result in getting mail? I must have hundreds of sites bookmarked and I don't think I can ever recall getting an email from any one of the sites I've bookmarked.

It seems that I did too. Forget I asked my question.

One usually bookmarks a site to return to it when needing something. If a company sends newsletters one doesn't need to remind one's self :-)

I'm grateful for Fred Aldous's newsletters.

OK. I have to chuckle in here, Claire. I've made enough stuffed animals over the years to know what you meant when you said "safety eye." You meant the hard plastic kind with the toothed ring on the inside so it can't be pulled off and eaten (choked on) by a small child (or spoiled dog who really likes stuffed Bunnies!!!!)

But I got the giggles anyway. Safety eye.....one that has a special latch so it can't accidentally go off and shoot someone an evil look??? Or perhaps...one that protects you from looking at especially displeasing sights???

lol

Until I read Claire's entire message, I was thinking of my uncle who lost an eye in combat in WWII, and wondering if he ever had a "safety eye". ;-}

I can find all kinds of 6 mm and 8 mm eyes, but no 7's....none at all!

What a lovely thought!!!!!!!!! safety against "evil eyes"

I actually want these for my new idea for bibs. I want to make bibs that look like waistcoats for my annual country music bash in July, I wanted to put the eyes in place of buttons as I don't think buttons would be safe for an under 3 year old on something as close to the mouth as a bib! I will let you know how they work out.

lol Beats the heck out of spitting and turning in a circle three times to the east huh? ;)

What about press on snaps? Like the pearly ones on western (cowboy) shirts?

About half way down the page. Theyonly show pastel colors, but they do come in black. You assemble these asyou put them on the garment. There's the pearl side, the male snap, thefemale snap, and a plain back for the other side. You could just use thepearl side and the plain back piece. Scroll down the page a little more andlook a the picture of the Gripper Snaps. The pearl snaps assemble the sameway. Those might be easier to get hold of than the eyes. (And lessexpensive too! Those eyes are not cheap.)HTH

I like that ideas I already use plain snaps on my reversible dresses, more research and pricing needed I think .Thank you for that Sharon . I will get going on the test ones soon. As soon as I get the accounts done.I am now half way through the accounts for the 2nd time.Fingers crossed the new computer makes it I don't fancy doing them a third time.
