New usenet service

Hi all just wanted to try out this new service, aioe.org, it is free and seems to work Happy Thanksgiving to you all

I've used that one and freenews.netfront.net - since my ISP dropped usenet, a couple years ago. netfront carried some binary groups until recently. john t

Polly - is that a free usenet service ? I just tried it and got "authentication required " message .. seems to need a login ? Thanks ; John T.

Not free; something less than $2 per month and well worth it considering I never have to worry with its reliability. Except, around Christmas somebody there takes their children to work and we have a goofy couple of days. Polly

Do they provide binary newsgroups ? I really miss my photography newsgroups .. John T.

Hi Polly ;

Nope - alt binary or alt binaries would give a better indication ...

specific groups might include

alt binaries photography alt binaries photos original alt binaries pictures wallpaper

just to name a few.

binary data files are very large - photos & music & such - news servers don't like that much bandwidth.

Thanks for checking John T.
