Ping Ron Quantum question

As mostly a lurker here, I always read with interest your answers solutions to Singer queries. Well, here's one of my own... Regarding the Singer Quantum 200. Of course the reviews are glowing. Of course. How versatile is the machine for home use embroidery? Any real mechanical problems, known kinks? What about a refurbished, is it as reliable as a new? (I've bought refurbished tools before and been satisfied) Any thing I should know? It looks to me to be a popular machine...that seems to speak for itself.

Perry Thanks.

I do not personally have much experience with that model. I can tell you bobbin cases fly off the shelf. I can not keep them in stock. The one downside is having to have the computer near the sewing machine. The Futuras embroidery features are done on a computer or lap top then transferred to the machine via a cable either USB or Serial. Then you also have to purchase another $500.00 or so in software to get full advantage of the features.
