Sueded Polyester - napped

I've got some sueded polyester that I'm going to do this Belgian Chef's jacket with. I'm backing it with some flannel.

I laid it out "with nap" and man it was a squeeker to make it fit. I'm just wondering if this stuff really has a nap, or if its more random.

When in doubt about how much nap there is in a piece of fabric, I take it out in the full sunlight to look at the way the light shows the nap. Lay it down or ask someone to hold it while looking at it "this way and that way", to see if there is a big difference in the way it looks at different angles. If the difference is very slight, sometimes I don't worry about it. Or laid out flat, rub your hand in one direction, then the other, and you may feel the difference, think corduroy. Emily

G'day Taunto

I've used poly suede many times and bought more last week at the end of winter sale and have found that it does have a nap.....some colours are not as noticeable as others but I'm sure it would show up if I didn't use a nap layout.

Depends... Some has more of a nap than others. With Nap is probably best.
