Domino help please

Hi,

I have tried to bleach and then stain dominoes with tea and coffee. The bleaching (24 hours) only makes them matte not white, but that's ok. But I've tried putting them in strong tea or coffee over night and even simmering then in it after, for hours. Only one has taken then stain like it "should". The others stained only on the dotted side and half way up the sides. The top side I wish to stain has taken nothing but the ever most slight hue of tan...virtually untouched. Anyone have any clue as to why these dominoes refuse to stain? If one would, why wouldn't the others? And why the dotted side would take it and not the plain?

Any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks!

I have no answers as to why your domino wouldn't stain but a suggestion as to how to get the look of stain. Just use your permanant ink in the shade of brown you are looking for and rub it on the domino - like you would for the direct to paper way.

Thanks Donna. I thought this way would be more permanant, easy and really look aged. But perhaps your suggestion would be the way to go. At least then I wouldn't have wasted 2 days waiting for them to change themselves. LOL
