Finally got the pictures up on the website...

Hi All: I am taking a bit of a break from sewing until "Psycho Kitty" settles down a bit. Unlike Kate's well-mannered felines, our Pepper thinks that everything's fair game! I did manage to take down and re-furbish the old curtains in the family room, though. Not really an easy task as it meant putting up new rods as well. I still have two valances to make and put up and then that job will finally be done - it's only been almost 20 years of hating what was hanging in that room! (Not so much the curtains - it was the butt-ugly rods that just didn't work!) I waited for hubby to be gone for a week and then did the job myself....with plenty of 'help' from the kitten! My other accomplishment was to update our family website a bit. It is still extremely simplistic compared to Kate's, but it does show a bit of where we live and some of the sewing I've done. The top picture of the deer in my backyard actually has five deer in it (4 and 1/2, really) - I truly think that they were planning an attack at night on my sundeck as that is where I have taken to growing fuschias, roses, pansies and all of their other non-perennial favourites. The site is:

and, as I've already said, Kate's is a far better site - does Alan do alot of the grunt work on it for you, Kate? As soon as I can get a copy of the "Tradition" outfits from Fiddler onthe Roof and the "Can-Can" petticoats I will add them to the site, too. Thegirls in the towel wraps peeled the towels off 2/3 of the way through thedance to reveal brightly coloured satin 'tube' dresses - that dance was alot of fun to watch and the girls had a great time doing it. We organised asewing bee to make the costumes and got them done in a day: the non-sewingmoms were our 'go-fers' between the tables and the rest of us cut, sewed, pinned and such. Their head-wraps were towel turbans that were cut and sewnso no one had to worry about it coming off mid-dance! We had a lot of funand everyone learned a little bit - plus, it meant that I didn't have tomake all of the darned things! (Ulterior motive at work: I'd much ratherteach them to sew the costume than make it for them all the time.)Cynthia

Could be a 'net problem yesterday - all mail I sent to 'hotmail' accounts yesterday came back unable to deliver as host unavailable. Shouldn't have timed out - Michael showed me (and I actually remembered something!) to break it into separate 'pages' for quicker loading - especially important for those with dial-up modems. I reached your site this AM, thanks. I love your costume work, how very fortunate your daughters are.

I also have some wildlife in my backyard, though nothing as large as yours. ;-)
