hello all, can anyone help with a place for some material. im in need for some waterproof nylon type. the stuff that ruck sacks are made of. im only after small quantities. anyone now of a place in the UK other than point north that are charging £11 a lin mtr.

That's not a bad price, you know... However, you might like to try Croft Mill, who run a nice line in manufacturer's overstocked fabrics. They often have odd stuff like this in, culled from luggage maker's stockrooms and other dusty holes.

I've just had a look through the Remnant House list and I can't spot anything... Might be worth giving them a ring, but I usually find Croft are better at that sort of thing. Croft often have Burberry and Henry Lloyd manufacturer's overstock.

Try Abakhan (North wales, Liverpool and I think Preston). They used to be good on this sort of stuff. Croft have nice fabrics, but they tend to be clothing rather than luggage. Also the stall in Pontypool market.
You might find it very hard to get this stuff cheaply. Mine (from Abakhan) used to be seconds etc. from Courtaulds in Chorley who did the coated nylons (Cordura and ripstop) but the factory is gone now and replaced by flats.
