I bought a new Stihl 036 chainsaw this summer. I am really enjoying it. It replaced my Husky 266. I got it with a 28" bar, which balances nicely with this powerhead weight. Don't get too long a bar with a light saw or you will end up dragging the nose.
One piece of advice - if you are buying a new saw, consider getting the right bar size right away. The Stihl saws all come in powerhead only boxes. The bar is not in the box. So you can upgrade to a longer length for just a few bucks. Then they put the right size on your saw to start. If you get the standard bar and then later upgrade, you will probably spend an extra $75 for a new bar and chain.
If you live out in the country like me, consider going with the local dealer's brand. The Stihl dealer is in town and the Husky dealer is an hour away. Either is a good saw.
