glue stuck like cologne

hey anybody out there,

i have a bottle of mens cologne on my wood dresser that is stuck like glue. i don't know what happen. some years ago, i belive it fell to it's side and there must have been some kind of slight leak. well,it's been laying on it's side STUCK to the wood for years now. I've been tempted to beat it with a hammer and get it off. but my big fear is that it will break open and my room will smell like mens cologne for eternity. any suggestions? Charles

Most colognes are alcohol-based. Try applying a bit of alcohol (rubbing alcohol, denatured alcohol, vodka, it doesn't really matter) around the edges of the bottle and see if that frees it up.

Can you loosen the cap a little, so more of the cologne leaks out? Only this time, pry it up or pick it up after the bond softens, and before it dries out again.

take it outside and use a proper tool for removal.. I prefer a 357, but some folks are still hung up on the old 45 cal.... oh.. and if you have neighbors that you like, use wadcutter ammo..
