Is the Firmager P/Tool good?

I have been using the Crown Diamond parting tool for a while. At time, I would be better served by a narrower parting tool. The write up about the Firmager Parting/Shaping tool (Crown) appears promising. Before ordered it I wonder if any one had practical experience with it.

I've used the 2mm Sorby parting tool for a few years. Real nice where you want to minimize discontinuity in grain patterns when making boxes. Also great when you decide that your planned object would look better if it were a bit longer than you planned, and you're up against the chuck....

The other looks a shorter handled version of same.

Yes the Firmager tool is good, but the handle is still not long enough! I own a Firmager and a Stott and will soon be replacing them with the Sorby long handled 1/16" parting tool - I have had the short handled tool pulled into the work too many times and see how additional leverage on the handle would be a great benefit to have at my disposal when making parting cuts on pieces that are more than 3 inches over the tool rest!

Yes, the Firmager Parting tool is good. Well, at least the design is good. Never used one made by Crown, actually. I just made my own. Heck of a lot cheaper at under $3!
