Havemanufactured a respirator which is very good and considerably cheaper thanthe other two brands usually mentioned. As always some things could bebetter or more convenient but all in all an excellent item. For me the bestthing is that one feels clean after using it with no dust on the head faceetc. Only been out since about July? 2003No connection with the company just a happy user. Even managed to install acheap FM radio with the earpieces set into the ear muffs. :-)Cheers, Peter.

Hi All,

In the course to trying to decide on a powered respirator, I have done the archives thing, the website thing, and the printed catalog thing. My head is swimming with statistics and propaganda. Perhaps what I should have done in the first place was the ask the man who owns one thing. So, would you please share with me the reason you bought the brand that you own and whether you would do it again? And, oh yeah, the Scotsman in me would like to know if you know of anyone who has them in a year end clearance sale. Thanks

I have a 3M full face mask. It is not powered. It looks like what firemen wear (Scott airpack. It totally covers my forhead to my chin. It has filters on each side by my cheeks. Absolutely no brownboogers! I have been hit in the head, on the mask once, and it just bounced off. It has protective clear plastic visor covers which stick over the face shield. I just clean them from time to time. The filters I just blow them out with a air compressor. It fits over my glasses and is very comfortable. It is has the highest rating for filtration (C95 I think) It is a bunch cheaper than the powered ones.

Peter,

I just unpacked my Triton Powered Respirator a few minutes ago. I immediately put the battery unit on the charger and started inspecting the helmet. There are two modifications that I already want to make:

1) change the air hose for a more flexible one; 2) add a radio.

You message says that you have made the radio modification. Would you tell me how you did it?

Thanks,

RP, Can you better identify The 3M Full Face mask. I'm looking too and This sounds like it may work. The half face units I have tried are not comfortable. TKS Bob Edwards-San Antonio, TX
