Atlanta anyone?

Question

I just got a new (Jet) lathe and, anal as I am, think that I should get some 'good' instruction before I hurt myself playing w/ it. While I'm fairly experienced (15yrs) at woodworking I've never had any hands-on experience w/ a lathe. I have, on the other hand, seen what a difference having someone that knows what their doing give a little one-on-one to a novice! So... Anyone in the Atlanta, GA area that knows where I can get some intro lessons? I'm sure that Highland Hardware (my home-away-from-home) has classes but they get pretty pricy and I think I would prefer a basic CC or tech school class right now. Thanks in advance.

Larry,The Gwinnett Woodworkers Association (GWA) meets every Saturday morning at 8:00 AM at Stone Mountain Power Tools on Indian Trail. More information is available online at  or see our booth at the Woodworking Show Jan. 30 - Feb. 1 at the Georgia International Convention Center. Part of the GWA is a woodturner's special interest group that meets on the second and fourth Thursday of every month. This group is also an AAW chapter. Perhaps it might be obvious that I'm a proud member of the  there are several other woodworking and woodturning groups in and around Atlanta. You might want to join the Gwinnett woodworkers , they have a turning cluband a scroll saw club , all the same members.
