Newsgroup? ? ?

I don't seem to have any posts on the newsgroup since August 24, 2003. Does this indicate a problem with my computer or my newsgroup server? Thanks.

Barry, there are 16 new headers counting yours since the 24th. I didn't count the messages in each thread.

It was caused by Bellsouth's news provider, WebUseNet. They were supposed to be moving/upgrading last weekend and had lots of problems.

Evidently, Bellsouth had enough (I know most customers have) and the WebUseNet contract has been canceled. Bellsouth is now running the newsgroups in house. I've already seen major improvements. I hope everyone else with Bellsouth has also.

I might suggest you unsubscribe and then re subscribe. This has worked for me in the past.

My newsgroup messages have mysteriously started appearing again. Go figure. Thanks for the suggestions.

Barry

The IP that I posted has now been cut off. As far as I can tell, "newsgroups.bellsouth.net" is working, but it is spotty at best right now.

In the past, there have been backdoor IP's that skipped WUN's problematic load balancer and got decent service, but I don't know if they are still valid IP addresses now that Bellsouth has taken over.
