OT: In the market for a pressure washer

After having rented a pressure washer a couple times, the wife decided that paying the $40.00 fee for a hald day rental was too much and that I should just buy one. The one I rented was gas-powered with a Honda engine, with 4 different nozzles. I have no idea what the thing was rated at in terms of PSI or gpm but aside from being a pain in the butt to start worked really well. I kinda attribute the hard starting to it being a rental. Anyways, I am looking for one in the $350-$400 range. I have heard that the PSI oughta be around 2200 and gpm around 3 or 4. It will be used for cleaning the deck, sidewalks (I had about and hour left on the thing thew last time I rented and used it on the sidewalks. GEEZ, so clean!), washing the car and truck, and the occasional other job.

Thanks for any input.

I bought an Excell brand (made by DeVilbiss) at Home Depot last summer that is 2600 psi - I don't see any GPM specs in the owner's packet and don't have the gumption to head out to the garage at the moment to check. The important thing I was looking for was that whatever pressure washer I bought have a Honda engine. As you may or may not know, Honda is a premier engine maker of all types. Oh, yes, it cost $388, has consistently started on the first, second or third pull of the rip cord, and has proven darned handy to have around for blasting the green slime that accumulates every winter in every crack and cranny here in the Pacific NW. It's awfully convenient to have one on hand and I'm surprised at how often I've used it during the last year.
