I could be mistaken, but I believe ROT-13 IS Swedish.

From doing cryptoquotes I figured out what the above said and from that figured out that ROT-13 is a substitution of the letter 13 places higher than the original message. What I like to know, is where does the reference ROT-13 originate? Is it from Sherlock Holmes? At first I thought you were having fun and simply typing nonsense.

Somewhere in my search I read that the "rot" part is short for "rotate" and the encryption moves 13 letters forward or backward (doesn't matter with a 26 letter alphabet).
