Woodturning Wall Hanging

I've got some thin stock I was thinking of turning into some kind of wall hanging. I was wondering what other turners use on the back to hang the piece on the wall. Is it best to use the same kind of set up as a painting or photgraph? Thanks Ron Overholtz

Couple of big old screws directly into the studs?

seriously- it might depend on the overall weight and thickness, but I'd use either braided wire and eyes, a T-slot, or if it's fairly thin and not too large, maybe even a plate hanger and try to incorporate the little hooks into the overall design of the edge.

Rockler sells (or at least used to sell) some pretty nice interlocking flush mounting hangers: one piece screwed to a stud, the mating piece screwed or epoxied to the turning. If what you are making is not really heavy, you might consider.

I would think in terms of a secondary holder.

Matching a half-pin to a dovetail recess would be fine on a light piece.
