6x6 July Received

Hi Nora & Hazel,

Just want to let you know I received Hazel's squares yesterday. Thank you, Hazel! They are beautiful! I especially like the woven one - it is so different from anything I've seen before. I like that yarn a lot too. Yours are now blocking though it may take a couple days to dry considering we are having over 70 degree dewpoints this week. Not pleasant!

Hi Noreen,

I'm in Boston but it definitely feels like TN these last couple of days!

ooh, I LOVE Boston! (hate to DRIVE there, but love the city!) I saw where your temps were hotter than ours! I think what makes it bad HERE is that moisture has no where to go with all the rock, etc, and the ground is always warm, never cools down like up north... no such thing as 4 foot frostwalls here, grin! Noreen back on topic: knitting or crocheting in airconditioning is blissful!

Hi Laura,

I've marked my July list that you have received your squares from Hazel.

Hugs,

Nora who crochets in front of a fan and it's as hot here as Boston.

Wow, Laura, that makes me feel better about our hot weather. It's a whole lot drier here in northern California (Trinity Co, up by Oregon). We've been in the 90's. I have to go to Redding today where the temps have been running 105 to 115 this last two weeks. It's only supposed to get to 103 today so at least I picked a cool one! If the squares don't dry there send them wet, I guarantee they'll dry here as soon as I open the envelope! lol I was painting this week and doing some tile work and both the paint and the grout were dry before I finished the project! But, at least it isn't snowing! Hazel

LOL *ONLY* 103... I love it! ;o)

Ack... bad word!!!

Gemini (who is enjoying the summer weather... mind you I'm sitting in front of a fan most of the time... and in the pool for at least 1/2 hour every afternoon to cool down my body temperature for bedtime)

I agree with you on driving in Boston - we almost never drive downtown because it is such a nightmare. Luckily the public transportation system is excellent so there is very little reason to drive down there unless you live there (which we don't - we are in the southwest part of the city where it is much more like a small town than a city).

Sounds like you have little relief from the heat except for ac! We at least have the benefit of a seabreeze at times. It is amazing to look at the weather maps when there is a breeze - it can be 10 degrees cooler in the city than it is in the surrounding areas. Nora mentioned it is hot near her as well - the whole northeast has been hit with this gross muggy weather. But I worry about people like Maggie down in AZ since they have been having record heat as high as 120 - I can't even imagine that!

But yes, I am grateful that we are not shoveling :)

And now the fires outside Phoenix too, following a lighting strike. Be safe, Marie! Hugs, Noreen
