I want to knit a beanie for my 1 yo American nephew. I want to knit a white star at the top, then blue followed by red and white stripes.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a pattern - especially for the star part (I can manage the stripes)?

You'll want to look at two-color patterns. The easiest way I can think of to put a start on the top of the crown is to knit up from the brim, make centered double decreases (slip 2 together knitwise, knit
